hi i cant get dream control center to login to my dm500s, all it keeps saying is login failed. i have tried different cables,i even got another version of dream control center in case the one i had was in any way faulty but still it wont login. the main problem i have is that the digital kaos image i have has not got cccam 2.1.3 in the addons only older versions and these wont work with a white sky card. i thought of reflashing the box but the problem is my laptop is vista and so i cant flash using that, and my old desktop which has windows xp and would be able to flash the box is not working. so that is why i need to get the dream control center working so that i can ftp cccam 2.1.3 in to the dreambox. if anyone can help me with this it would be great and also do i ftp cccam 2.1.3 zipped or do i unzip it first.

can anybody help i have now been through pretty much every site there is looking for a sollution to my problem, either no one has this problem or it seems they forgot something small (nothing at all to do with dcc)and it was working fine, i have purchased 2 ethernet cables,2 cat5 network cables and 2 crossover cables(i know i need a crossover cable, the guy in the shop gave me the wrong one)i have followed all instructions. i hooked the dm500s up to the laptop via a crossover cable, i opened dcc,it says telnet connected and it tells me my computer ip address, and then i clicked on search below the dreambox picture to get the ip address for my dm500s. which i did i double clicked to accept and then clicked on reconnect and it has failed to many times to mention. so what is the problem i have followed all instructions i have noticed that when i press menu and then expert setup and then communication setup that the last digit of my ip address is .5 but in dcc when i click on search it shows me the box ip address and it has 3 digits at the end .254 could this be the problem, or maybe its because my laptop is vista i dont know any help would be great.

well 2 things i checked back on helped me,i kinda thought the ip of the box might have been the problem along so i checked back on the info i had saved from various forums and help people gave me and changed the box ip(that still didnt work)i was told vista was ok with dcc(as i thought that might have been an issue as it is with flashing)so my thinking was then all it could be now was the cables or how they were connected. i may have picked it up wrong as i was told it or read it but i thought the dm500s was connected directly to the laptop via the crossover cable, so i decided after getting a bit more input from a mate that i would connect everything direct to the router(the laptop, and the dm500s)this posed a problem as the router is downstairs but i as i knew that would be a problem before hand so i had all the cables i needed. so i have four ethernet connections at the rear of the router, i put the crossover cable in to the first port and connected it to the dm500s, i put an ethernet cable from the computer in to the second ethernet port on the router, and the third port is for a long ethernet cable that runs up stairs to where the dm500s will be located. i then started dcc and went through the process of search ip address for the box but unlike all along when it gave me an ip address that would not work this time it gave me 2 ip addresses to choose from(the second one being the ip i changed the box to above)so i chose the second ip as the first never worked and then double clicked to accept ip and then clicked reconnect and hey presto it worked. i want to thank all who helped me get this far, if i learned one important thing tho its to keep a cool head and patience is a must(a few years back i was not so patient and i would have took the hammer to the box ha ha but not now)im sure to have more questions but i know where to look now for the answers right here on this great forum. thanks again guys.
