emm yes or no for local card

Do I need to allow emm?
I have a local digitalb card
I share like this
C: user pass port 3 1 0 {0:0:3}
is this ok?
New to this so still feeling my way around.

Best would be not to allow it and only do from youre local box.
If you allow from remote clients/servers it will increase youre traffic and thats not necessary.

What happens if I dont watch digitalb for a few days. Does the card require the ecm update to keep working. Should I make sure to update the card every day manually?
